CRAIG BOARDMAN
Craig Boardman has been involved in finance and consulting for more than thirty years. He founded Seapointe Capital, a boutique advisory firm, which specializes in bespoke structures for the acquisition, disposition, development and financing of commercial and residential real estate, equipment leasing as well as international trade finance. He is also the founder of CW Boardman & Associates, a financial planning firm that provides entrepreneurial individuals and corporations with business and estate planning strategies, with a focus on financial planning for real estate.
Craig earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Cape Town, a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Utah and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Whitman College. He also received his Certified Financial Planner certification from the College of Financial Planning. He holds a California Bureau of Real Estate Broker license, a California CPA License, a license as a Certified Financial Planner, a California Department of Insurance license, an Enrolled Agent designation with the Internal Revenue Service.
After receiving his M.B.A., Craig worked in Bangkok with DaMotta & Associates in investment banking, where he was involved in project financing for a kenaf pulp-ethanol facility. While in Thailand, he also negotiated international contracts with the government on behalf of the Murdock Machine & Engineering Company of Utah to build a "turn-key" munitions loading plant for the Royal Thai Air Force.
He then returned to Southern California, and served as a financial planner with Orange County Tax & Financial Planning where he developed and implemented tax and financial planning strategies for the firm’s clientele. He has served on several philanthropic and non-profit boards in Southern California, including the 50/50 Foundation, The Roosters Foundation, The Native American Regional Educational Center, and the Newport Harbor Exchange Club.
Craig grew up with one of those outdoor, athletic childhoods typical for Southern California kids: played Junior Golf in Southern California and Utah, learned to fly at 17 years old, taught skiing and played Varsity Golf while in College. He plays piano, enjoys live theater and has traveled extensively. He recently joined the Circumnavigators Club to connect with others who have traveled extensively; one of the requirements being that you've circled the globe, a feat not many can claim and he has done it 3 times.
Craig resides in Orange County with his wife, and in his spare time prides himself on being a scratch golfer. His daughter lives in New York City and his son lives in Newport Beach.
